A Brief History…
Dean Turner and Pete Drugan have worked in their family business, Truck Transmissons Ltd, since leaving school and have specialised in repairing and reconditioning gearboxes ever since.
More than eighteen years later, they developed great expertise in the restoration of gearboxes and are proud to be on the shop floor with their team every day.
After coming across a Triumph TR6 J type gearbox one day at work (a remnant of the car that Pete’s dad had begun restoring nearly ten years ago), we decided to recondition it and sell it on a well known auction site.
The response was phenomenal.
This made us think that there could be a gap in the market for someone to provide the same services to classic car owners that we had been providing to the HGV sector.
The more we reconditioned classic gearboxes the more we enjoyed this different side to our job. Instead of building gearboxes that were going to do heavy duty in hard-working trucks, we are building boxes that are going to complete cherished classic cars. Very quickly, our hard work has paid off and we are enjoying great success.
With over 36 years experience between us and all of the best tools and equipment in place we are in an ideal position to continue growing our business.
Our company is called CGR and we would very much like to help anyone who has a gearbox, overdrive or differential in need of repair or reconditioning.
